Identifying the Issue
DFBC previously relied on a tripod-mounted smartphone for live streaming church services. While live stream video quality was less than optimal, volunteers could repeat this set up with consistency.
However, this approach encountered challenging audio issues. The phone’s built-in microphone would pick up considerable room noise and reverb, limiting the intelligibility of their online services. Furthermore, the church’s analog sound board made setting a unique live stream audio mix impractical.
Sculpting the Solution
To address these issues, Whole Hearted Pro AV introduced a tailored audio visual upgrade. The analog mixer was replaced by a compact digital sound board, making custom live stream mixes easy to set and monitor. Next, a new PTZ auto-tracking camera enabled the effortless automatic tracking of pastors and speakers. This particular model also featured manual control and camera monitoring from a mobile app.
Finally, a new Magewell Ultra Stream encoder allowed the church to stream directly to YouTube with just the press of a button. This volunteer-friendly device freed up the sole PC in the tech booth to only run ProPresenter. (No more juggling web pages and streaming software on top of slides!) These additions have significantly improved the audio-visual experience for both online viewers and tech booth volunteers, allowing greater focus on the content of the service.
